Our
Keystone Feature Writing Course is comprised of Core Journalistic subjects which form the basic building blocks of
this specialised form of writing, followed by Targeted Skill Areas to start you on the path to becoming a
successful feature writer.
At the
completion of the course each client is presented with an attendance
certificate itemising the key skills areas which have been covered.
These Core Subjects are:
- Understanding how journalistic writing differs from other forms of writing.
- The search for “Truth.”
- Essential legal issues you need to know and pitfalls to avoid.
Such skills underpin a whole range of media techniques and, in our experience, enhance the ability of clients to extend their writing into wider arenas.
Targeted
Skill Areas
- Freelance Journalism – how to market your material and target publications.
- Interviewing and researching.
- Practical feature writing essentials and techniques.
- Sub-Editing – how to refine your work.
- A guided trip to gather material for a feature.

- Individual review session.
Full course papers are provided for each session, however, clients are encouraged to also take their own notes.
