Rod Andrews has over 40 years experience in all areas of Journalism and Press Relations.

During this time he has worked on regional newspapers, for national daily newspapers, news agencies and magazines.

As Director of a London West-End Press and Publicity Consultancy, clients included:

Casio Electronics, Canon Copiers, Centrum Communications.

As Principal of his own Press Relations Consultancy, clients included:

Phillips Communications Ltd.

Bosch Communications Ltd.

The Incorporated Society of British Advertisers (world-wide publicity).

In 1996 his newspaper promotion for the Essex Chronicle Series of newspapers jointly won the British Newspaper Society’s Reader Offer of the Year Award.

As lecturer in Journalism Studies at Colchester Institute he ran the City and Guilds 779 course in Journalism with responsibility for creation and preparation of all practical elements of the course extending to: hard news writing, feature writing, review writing, editorial leaders, human interest stories, desk top publishing, newspaper layout and design and assessment of competencies.

He was solely responsible for teaching: Journalistic law, press background studies and media institution, central and local government procedures.

He then developed and wrote a centre-devised double unit of magazine journalism for the two-year BTEC National Diploma Course in Media, developing all schemes of work and lecturing on these. He was also a member of the Course Assessment Board of Studies.

During 1996 and 1997 he created and ran a successful press campaign for Alan Hurst, the Parliamentary Candidate for Braintree and Witham. Following this Alan Hurst won the marginal seat and became Member of Parliament for two terms of government, sitting on the cross party committee for Agriculture.

Stella Andrews

With almost 30 years working in Secondary schools as a fully qualified teacher, Stella Andrews is also a holder of the City and Guilds 779 qualification in Journalism and Radio Competences and has experience of working with multi-media formats.

In the field of Education she has developed a range of media-based courses to be delivered in Secondary schools at Key Stages 3 and 4. Additionally for many years she was responsible for all Press Relations for a major secondary school.

She has extensive experience of press copy writing plus copy verification, teaching English Language and Literature as well as Drama, in addition to her role as Senior Tutor in the Secondary sector.

Stella also runs a creative business, Carte Blanche 79, manufacturing hand-made greetings cards and producing mounted decoupage works of people’s homes around the world.

Additionally, she runs courses in  decoupage at beginner and intermediate levels.
